Pact Terms of Use
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Pact is an invoicing and payment-tracking app for creators and freelancers, made by GenesisCipher Labs. It turns brand-deal messages into invoices and reminds you when a payment is due. By using Pact you agree to these terms.
What Pact is — and is not
- Pact is a productivity and record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship with us. Nothing Pact produces is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
- Pact helps you format invoices and apply the tax details you enter — Indian GST (CGST+SGST for an in-state supply, IGST for an inter-state one, zero-rated for an export, or no tax if you are not registered), your own VAT/GST rate elsewhere, and EU reverse-charge wording where applicable. Pact does not and cannot guarantee that any invoice satisfies the legal requirements of any jurisdiction. Tax rules, rates, registration thresholds, and invoice content requirements differ by country and change over time, and they depend on facts about you and your client that only you know. You are responsible for verifying every invoice — the amounts, the tax treatment and rate, the registration numbers, the place of supply, and any statutory filing — before you issue it or rely on it. Automated extraction can be wrong; you confirm each field.
- Pact does not file returns, remit tax, send invoices, collect payments, or contact your clients for you. Any email you send from a Pact draft is sent by you, from your own account.
Warranties and liability
Pact is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- GenesisCipher Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app — including incorrect or non-compliant invoices, incorrect tax amounts or classifications, missed or late reminders, unpaid or disputed amounts, lost or corrupted data, or penalties, interest, or assessments imposed by any tax authority.
- Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to Pact is limited to the amount you paid GenesisCipher Labs for Pact in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, and nothing deprives you of any protection you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Always keep your own records and consult a qualified professional for tax and legal matters.
Your data
- Everything you put into Pact stays on your device. We operate no server that receives your profile, brands, deals, invoices, or payments, and we do not sell or share your data.
- Deal text you paste or share is processed on your device (using Apple Intelligence where available, or an offline parser) and is never sent to us or any third-party AI service.
- See the Pact Privacy Policy for the full detail, including your rights under India’s DPDP Act, the EU/UK GDPR, the CCPA, and your own local law.
Subscriptions
Pact is free to use for a limited number of invoices. Pact Pro is an auto-renewable subscription — offered weekly, monthly, 3-monthly or 6-monthly — that unlocks unlimited invoices, your own logo on the invoice, AI-drafted follow-ups, and (for Indian creators) export invoices for brands outside India.
Exporting your invoices and backing them up to a folder are free and are not part of any subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Current prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region; we may change prices for future periods with notice as required.
- Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms; we do not process or store your payment details.
Acceptable use
Use Pact only for lawful invoicing and record-keeping for your own business. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app. You are solely responsible for the invoices you issue and the messages you send, including their accuracy and their lawfulness. To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, you agree to indemnify GenesisCipher Labs against claims by third parties arising from your unlawful use of the app or your breach of these terms.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will revise the “Last updated” date; continuing to use Pact after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of India, without depriving you of any protection granted by the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence. If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest of the terms remain in full effect.
